Vancouver Covered Patio for Game Day

Whether you’ve come home from a long work day, spent a day working from home, or simply need a change of scenery, an inviting, and relaxing back patio can be just the place! Creating a back-patio space is both complimenting to your home and your landscape, and can easily increase the overall value.

As you will see in the before photo here, the back patio was more or less a blank canvas, waiting for more. The cemented area had a desirable amount of space for entertainment and leisure, but was lacking in the necessary coverage to utilize as a year-round space in a region where as we know receives more rainfall than not!

Choosing a patio cover can be unique to the house and the goal of coverage. In this case, the location of the home received a higher exposure to winds, making it necessary to have a dynamic roof that both protects you from harsh weather conditions, but also remains appealing to the eye.

The angle of the roof expands the space so that it can be used to its full capacity during all seasons. Taking the initial overhang of the patio and constructing it into a completely new style of coverage required tying the vestibule into the ceiling of the new cover. Adding pine tongue and groove boards to the ceiling increases the appeal of the area and made for the perfect opportunity to add in sets of recessed can lighting. Being able to manipulate the lighting in an outdoor space can help create an ambience for evening entertainment and overall comfort.

Utilizing the space you have isn’t just about making it look nice, but also expanding your living area and finding enjoyment within every inch of your home!
