Remodeling Your Home? Here’s What To Expect

Making the decision to remodel your home can be exciting and nerve-wracking all at once. Because of that, we’ve put together some helpful information so you can be prepared when remodeling your home.

Choosing a contractor can have a lot to do with cost and reputation, but it is important to find one that you mesh with. Remodeling your home means lots of planning, coordinating and communicating. It also means you will be seeing your contractor regularly. Because of the close working relationship that you’ll have, you want to be able to connect with each other.

Expect Disruptions When Remodeling a Home

Any time renovations are taking place, it is inevitable that dust becomes a temporary house guest. Although we use a dust-control system, which makes a significant difference, we aren’t going to lie, dust has a sneaky way of making itself at home.

Getting the job done requires collaboration with other professionals aside from your contractor.  Tradesmen and carpenters may be coming in and out of your house periodically to do their part. Your contractor will be coordinating with them as to when they can be in to do their job, so know that you may see a new face here and there.

The Project is Not Finished Until It’s Finished

The anticipation and excitement of a finished project is something you may anxiously be awaiting. However, all good things take time. The quality of the work that is needed to complete the project you are wanting requires time and attention to detail. This is exactly what we will provide. You may be looking for obvious progress at the end of each day but, it is important to understand the behind-the-scenes tasks that don’t boldly show themselves. Things such as small sheetrock repair, paint touchup, tile caulking, and cabinet pulls make for complete quality end results.

Expect Regular Updates and Consistent Communication

Communication is key to success. You should expect regular and consistent updates regarding your home from the project foreman in charge of the home remodel. As a client, it’s important to know what is going on with your home and the projects that are taking place. This information can range from schedule changes to inspection information. It will also include information about other tradesmen contractors who will be arriving at your property. This type of information should be reassuring and also is imperative to ensure that you are comfortable within your home the best you can be as these projects are underway.

Expect A Clean Site When Remodeling Your Home

Last, but most definitely not least, you can expect the job site to remain as clean and safe as possible during the duration of the project. Garbage should remain limited and cleaned up at the end of the day. You shouldn’t see any garbage piled around the home. Tools should be properly secured and removed to avoid potential safety hazards. We know that renovations make a mess, but it’s important that we keep this as mitigated as possible and a good contractor will make sure that the job site stays clean and safe.
